Friday July 6th

Today Elijah is one day old and still hanging out in the NICU, we were able to go down and see him several times today since we just hang out in our room otherwise. Elijah was able to stay off of the oxygen all night so this was a very good progress check! I called this morning and the nurse said they were going to try and give him a bottle, I was waiting for the Dr to come in and a few other things so I wasn't able to make it down there for it but when I called to check the nurse said he did good with it, he took 6 mils.

We saw him at his 1 PM touch time, I wasn't brave enough to feed him on my own so I just watched the nurse do it and got a few tips. He took 10 mils at this feeding so he is going up slowly but surely!! Steve and I got to hold him and snuggle him for about 35 minutes, who knew your heart could feel this much love!!

He seems to be doing good at feedings, he took 8 MILS at his 7 PM feeding and 10 MILS at his 10 PM feeding and we got to snuggle for about 30 minutes. I finally got brave enough to feed him on my own at the 7 o'clock feeding, it was a wonderful first time moment!
